Todd Lake Engagement
Rya and James Decided to take their Engagement Photos on Todd Lake. Being the adventurous couple that they are, they decided to live in Bend, because of the endless outdoor opportunities. After getting two know these two a little, we decided it was best that we headed up to the mountains early in the morning before sunrise. I have been a huge fan of sunrise shoots, lately, so I met them super early in the morning, loaded up their old canoe, and headed out Cascade Lakes Highway. We found ourselves at Todd Lake and hauled their 15-Foot canoe to the shore and sent them off on a romantics sunrise canoe ride across the lake. The weather was just warm enough for them to keep each other cozy but cold enough to form a nice layer of fog on the water. We were able to capture some stunning photos of them together on the shore and in their canoe. Once the sun hit the water, the pictures stepped up to a whole new level of beauty. I’m so happy that we made it up to the lake before the snow hit, and I can’t wait to photograph these two getting hitched at Pronghorn this spring.
Don’t hesitate to contact me if you’re looking to take engagement photos in September or October. I just purchased a similar canoe and would love to take you out on a lake one morning.
This is probably my favorite image, with my favorite camera and lens. The Sony A7RII has end less detail and coupled with the 85mm F1.4 GM, you can’t go wrong. I still can’t believe the colors we got on the lake at sunrise, it was truly stunning
James made sure we snapped a couple of photos of them on his Motorcycle. More Engagements
