Recent Family Portrait Sessions
As a family portrait photographer, located in Bend, OR, I enjoy capturing families of all sizes. I appreciate the love and joy found in interacting with the families I photograph. Each family is unique and exudes its signature traits and energy. Whether it’s darling, wiggly kiddos, or grown children with their folks, it’s a blast. I love capturing the essence of each family in unique locations that reflect who they are. We can find a backdrop of gorgeous fall leaves or the crispness of snow. Whatever location you choose will work to showcase how special your family is.
Planning Your Session
During the shoot, it’s my goal to make you and yours feel comfortable as I work with you to create natural, unforced moments. As a family man with a wonderful daughter of my own, I understand how to put littles at ease and am patient to let them find their way during the shoot. I get it. Some kiddos are shy and others don’t want to stand still, so I am committed to snapping moments through my lens to explore exactly who you all are.
It always amazes me how I see intimate family connections and bonds through my lens. Often, they come in unexpected ways. Whether through a look, a tender handhold, or unexpected giggles at just the right moment. I hope that these photos will be something you treasure down the road. Let me mark a season of accomplishment, a birthday, or an anniversary. Be yourselves and enjoy the shoot. The result will be incredible photos to hang on the wall or set as your lock screen, something that will bring a smile to your face.

2024-2025 Family Sessions
{ Single Family sessions are $750 }
{ Multi-Family sessions are $850 }
You will receive 50-100 images in color and black and white (so double the amount). Full print rights are included and you can download them straight from your online gallery.
Booking
Sessions are for a 1-hour window at the location of your choice. To book a session you can fill out the contact form. Tell me the day and time of day you would prefer, and I will send you a link to book your date with a 10% deposit.
Some Easy Locations
Here are some of my favorite locations in the bed area.
Shevlin Park is located 10 minutes from Downtown Bend. Click for example pics
Drake Park is located in the heart of downtown Bend and has the best fall colors in the area. Click for example pics
Sparks Lake is located 1 hour from Downtown Bend and has the best mountain views in all of Oregon. Click for Example pics. Open mid-June – mid-November and then closes due to snow.
Smith Rock is located 40 minutes north of Downtown Bend and looks like a piece of the Grand Canyon. Click for example pics. Open all year.
Shevlin Park (open Year round)
Meet-up Location GPS Link Shevlin Park is open year-round and always a great choice. It’s best early in the morning but it can also work well in the evening. It is also very close to DT Bend and easy to get to.
Sparks Lake (June-November)
Meet-up Location GPS Link – The road to Sparks Lake is very bumpy. You don’t need 4wd but some ground clearance is a good idea. – Bring a $5 bill per car for parking. Sparks Lake is Open from the middle of June – the beginning of November
Smith Rock (Open Year Round)
Meet-up Location GPS Link – The south parking lot – be sure to grab a $5 parking permit via the Credit Card Machine. Smith Rock is open all year and best at sunset. The sun is a bit too harsh in the mornings.
Drake Park (Open year Round)
Meet-up Location GPS Link – by the restrooms. Drake Park is open year-round and always beautiful. The park runs into DT Bend and follows the Deschutes River. My favorite time of year is around October 15th-30th when all of the trees are showing off their fall colors.

For this family session, we explored some fresh snow and embraced the cold with a camper fire and some hot coffee.
Sparks Lake – July 11th
The Toth Family was visiting from Washington and looking for some outdoor family photos. Bend did not disappoint the week they were in town. I met them at Sparks Lake and we wandered around some beautiful locations.

This is the Dugan family and they live here in Bend. I met up at their house after little Jasper woke up from his nap. I photographed their daily routine of Jasper waking up and heading out in the neighborhood for an adventure. Sparks Lake – July 26th
The Hoatson Family was visiting from Florida and decided that they were in need of family photos while in Bend. I helped them pick the perfect place for their session. Bend Fall Family Photos
If you’re in Bend and you’re looking for family photos with some colorful leaves, then October is the month for you. You will have the best luck if you plan your shoot for the middle to end of the month. Below are several Fall sessions with dates and locations so you can plan your next year’s session. My October sessions generally book up by mid-September, so if you’re interested in a session you can full out the contact form on the bottom of the page.Drake Park – October 25th
I live in Bend and I love photographing families in the Fall. This wonderful family took photos at Drake Park on October 25th. Fall in Bend can last up to one month and generally kicks off around the end of September or beginning of October.
