Oregon Coast Elopement Locations

The Oregon Coast is full of stunning landscapes perfect for an elopement location. Elope with the one you love in a romantic spot to remember.

Cannon Beach Elopement

Oregon Coast elopement locations are some of the best spots for you to experience your big day. Elopements are such a unique and adventurous way to start the next chapter of your love story. With you and your Love surrounded by your closest crew, your nuptials will be something you will never forget. Let your vows be deeply personal, your ceremony reflect the signature of your love, and take your time capturing breathtaking photos. (That’s where I come in!) Having photographed elopements for years now, I am passionate about couples finding the perfect spot and including elements that make their wedding day as special as they are. The Oregon Coast elopement locations where I’ve been able to shoot ceremonies are some of the most memorable weddings for me.

Naomi and Gabby

Naomi and Gabby are two beautiful brides who chose the Oregon Coast as their perfect elopement location. They traveled out from Kansas for their destination elopement. The moody shores of Cannon Beach set the backdrop for them to share their vows and celebrate their marriage. They chose to rent a beautiful Airbnb right on the water. With waves crashing outside the windows, they donned their wedding attire and let the excitement build.

After getting ready they traveled up to Seaside, Oregon to get some hand-drawn tattoos at Lucky Dog Tattoo. It was such a phenomenal pre-elopement experience to capture. Watching these two brides commemorate their big day with tattoos was so meaningful. Plus, I got some photos that clearly reflect how fun Naomi and Gabby are. Elopements like this are so deeply personal and I feel privileged to play a part.

Next, we headed to some secret spots for some beautiful portraits overlooking Cannon Beach. The misty breezes and rolling fog created an epic, cozy vibe. These two adventurous love birds embraced the wet sand and rugged landscape. They let the weather and elements create some gorgeous captures. Genuine smiles, overflowing joy, and authentic love on display.

It was finally time for the vows. We drove down to my favorite ceremony location right by Haystack Rock. The ceremony was backdropped by crashing waves and this landmark was romantic and so special. After all of the day’s events, Amanda Claire and Co married these two. Overall, the misty rain and moody vibes at this Oregon Coast elopement location is one I will never forget. Maybe you’ve been looking for the perfect spot for your unique elopement. Let Naomi and Gabby’s story inspire your vows. I’d love to be there to capture it!

Why the Oregon Coast?

I’ve found the Oregon coast to be a magical location and backdrop to saying, “I do!” with a little elopement. Catch a sunny day in mid-summer with the energy of the season bustling around.  Embrace the misty, overcast days of winter rich with green vegetation. Either way, you’ll love this intimate moment with your significant other on the Oregon Coast. With ocean waves surrounded by the lush vibes of the NW forests your elopement will be dreamy as ever.

The Oregon Coast is already rich with memories of family trips chasing waves and solo retreats to breathe in the serenity. Imagine adding your elopement to your experiences of this Pacific NW wonderland. The Oregon Coast offers both tourist-centered accommodations as well as secluded spots for your private wedding day. Lean into the rustic charm of the beach towns. Take in the picturesque landscapes and get a little sand between your toes.

What time of year is best?

The best time to enjoy elopement locations on the Oregon Coast really does depend on you and yours. When you think about your special moment to exchange vows and those sparkly rings, what comes to mind? Is it sunshiney with flowers in bloom, kites flying, and the energy of the tourist season all around? Will your few guests want to enjoy the summer weather alongside the busy bustle of summer tourist activities? If so, summer on the Oregon coast will be great. Enjoy the warmer weather and feel the fresh atmosphere.

If you envision rainy weather and a more secluded experience, winter might be best. The coast will promise at least a little mist, if not rain. Let wild waves, rugged rocks, and abundant forests set the scene. Think through how you’ll handle rain if it comes and a creative way for you and your few guests to stay warm too. Light a bonfire with blankets. Let the rain soak your hair and run down your dress. Roll up your suit pants. Run in the waves until your toes go numb. Let the wonder of the glorious gloom contrast the joy of your big day. Let the special energy of every season on the Oregon Coast inspire the cozy, romantic feelings of each elopement location to choose from.

Where to elope?

If you’re looking for the most iconic Oregon Coast location to elope, Cannon Beach’s Haystack Rock is a great find. Grab your bouquet, swing that dress over your arm, and get yourselves right down on the beach to say, “I do!” The historic landmark will be the perfect backdrop for your elopement photos and give you the sweetest memories in this famous spot. Right up the hillside you’ll have access to the quaint town of Cannon Beach complete with cozy coffee shops, restaurants, and spots to celebrate. Local vendors can make your favorite dessert or provide flowers or pick some wild ones along the way.

Just five miles from Cannon Beach, Hug Point is a beautifully romantic location on the Oregon Coast to elope. Access to the beach is easy for your wedding party so you can share your intimate vows and get to the celebration. It boasts views of epic rock formations, crashing ocean waves, and some local history too. Seal your love backdropped by a sandy cove beach surrounded by hills thick with vegetation. Take a short walk to nearby seasonal waterfalls, sandstone cliffs, and low tide tide pools. Imagine bringing your kids or close friends to this special spot where your romance took flight.

Best time of day?

To choose the best time of day for your special elopement I’d start with considering if you are an early bird or a night owl. Both sunrise and sunset are going to give you the most stunning views for your Oregon Coast elopement location because of the lighting. If you’re hoping for nature as your only audience, I’d say that sunrise is your best bet. Cozy up with your soon to be spouse in the crisp morning air. Let the fading morning fog dissipate. Watch sunbursts and natural light cast breathtaking views of your wedding as your love is on display. After your intimate “I do’s,” grab some delicious brunch in town to celebrate. Raise a mimosa in cheer and take in the memories.

Do you love the energy of the night and don’t mind some excited onlookers to your special vows? A sunset elopement on the Oregon Coast at any beachside location will be great. Choosing sunset will be overall warmer with stunning colors painted across the sky. You and yours will also be ready to party with dinner and drinks to follow. Enjoy the local fare and bask in your love.

Where to stay?

The Oregon Coast is overflowing with beach houses available to rent on Airbnb. Carefully choose the style and size that accommodates you and your closest friends. Think about how you want to spend your time. Will you spend a few days before or after the elopement at the coast? Do you want to hang out with your few witnesses and hot tub the night away?  Maybe your elopement will kick off your Canon Beach honeymoon and you’re looking for a fireplace and coziness. Whatever you decide, you’ll have memories that last.

Stephanie Inn is also a great option for a very romantic stay. With its European style and outstanding service you’ll be whisked away. Enjoy complimentary wine tastings everyday at four and fine dining with breathtaking ocean views.

If you’re looking for a more classic spot, Cannon Beach Hotel in midtown is great. Enjoy its history and classy rooms. Grab drinks and appetizers to celebrate at the new MacGregors Whiskey Bar next to their lobby too.

Where to eat and drink?

Best Coffee.

Find yourself a cozy cup of coffee and fresh baked goods the morning of your elopement at Sea Level Coffee & Bakery. Take a few moments with coffee in hand to pause and soak in the day.

Best Brewery

Pelican Brewing is a great place for you and your crew to celebrate the momentous occasion. Enjoy a good brew and burger in a fun, casual atmosphere.

Best Seafood.

For the best seafood, you can’t go wrong with Ecola Seafood downtown, they own their own boats and catch almost everything. Their fish tacos are exceptionally good. Find fresh fish and chips that will bring you back again and again. Best clam chowder is hands down Seasons Cafe. For chowder and seafood with a view, Mo’s is a great casual spot steeped in tradition and a classic Cannon Beach feel.

Best Fine Dining.

For a fancy dinner to commemorate your elopement, Newman’s at 988 serves delicious French Italian cuisine to remember. Raise a glass of wine in this little yellow house on Hemlock.

Dinners at Stephanie Inn are also legendary becuase of their fresh, local ingredients and an incredible fine dining experience.

New to Cannon Beach is, Gatsby’s, a new steakhouse in midtown. This “nuevo steak, chops, and seafood concept” is unique with a classic 1920’s/30’s theme.
