If you’re are at all interested in getting married or eloping at Smith Rock, here is the basic info you may need to know.
Smith Rock State Park is one of Bend Oregon’s most popular Elopement Wedding Locations. Probably because the views are so stunning. When you pull into the parking lot you will instantly be in awe of this natural landscape. You feel like you left Oregon and ended up somewhere in Arizona or Utah. Smith Rock is open to the public (for a $5 parking fee) so if your wedding is small enough it’s the perfect backdrop for an elopement or small wedding.

Haliea and Lakota – October
Smith Rock May Elopement
Danielle and Jahan had a beautiful elopement at Smith Rock in May. They decided to keep it simple and intimate, with Chris Lewis officiating the ceremony and only one friend as a witness and some cake. We began taking photos about an hour before the sunset, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect.
It was an absolute pleasure capturing their love and happiness in these photos. You can see just how excited they are about each other and how truly joyful they are. This was a truly special moment.
Smith Rock in Central Oregon is a stunning location for elopements, and I feel grateful to have been able to be a part of Danielle and Jahan’s special day. The natural beauty of the area added an extra touch of magic to their photos. I love being able to capture moments like these, where love is celebrated against such a breathtaking backdrop.
Smith Rock August Elopement
Allison and Evan
On this particular day, a fire broke out a couple of hours west of Smith Rock. It caused a bunch of smoke to blow their way, but it was still beautiful.
Smith Rock July Elopements
Jaclyn and Tyler
Jaclyn and Tyler were planning a wedding outside of Chicago when 2020 changed their plans. When they knew they couldn’t have the wedding they dreamed of this year, they started searching for places to elope. After a phone call and some emails, I helped them plan their Smith Rock Elopement.
They started their ceremony just before sunset. It was a warm evening and the views were breathtaking. I still can’t believe how perfect and simple everything was. They had a couple of friends with them and Wendy Duncan officiated their ceremony. After their ceremony, we wandered around with Mike Hiatt Media and captured them looking their best.
They followed their ceremony with a private dinner at 10 Barrel Brewing’s East Side location. I don’t think they could have had a more perfect evening.

Rachel and Chris
Rachel and Chris traveled to Oregon from South Carolina to elope at Smtih Rock. These two had originally planned their elopement in April but due to current 2020 events, they pushed their wedding to July. Lucky for them they picked a day with a sunset they’ll never forget.

Smith Rock Winter Elopement
Rashmi and Rahul found my photos online and fell in love with Smith Rock State Park, so they decided that this was where they celebrate their elopement. After a quick phone conversation, we decided that it would be extra special to them if we could start their day off with some snow. Luckily we have no shortage here in Bend in the winter.
We started their day off by heading up towards the mountains until we found some snow. This was the beginning of January so we didn’t have to go far. We stopped at the first snow park we found and wandered around this beautiful forest. There are not many things more romantic than snowflakes peacefull falling from the sky while your standing in a quiet forest. We spent about 45 minutes in the snow before we warmed up and headed to lunch.

Between portraits and their ceremony, we stopped at Spork, one of the best restaurants in Bend.
After some amazing food and cocktails we out to Smith Rock to meet their officiant Mary Ellen. This was Rashmi and Rahul’s fist time seeing the park and it was wonderful to see the excitement in their faces.
There was a bit of snow on the ground, but overall it was a pretty warm day for Central Oregon.
At most of these smaller weddings, I get to be a witness and sign marriage documents. It’s always so much fun to see couples make their commitment to each other official. These two are some amazing humans and I can’t wait to see how wonderful their lives will be together.
Fall Smith Rock Elopement
Smith Rock is located 30 minutes north of Bend, Oregon, and is a wonderful place to plan your elopement. This particular ceremony took place in October and the weather was perfect.
Alyssa and Andy shared their ceremony with their 4 children, while Chris Lewis officiated their ceremony. After a beautiful ceremony, they set up a nice little outdoor reception and enjoyed some champagne and desserts. I had a wonderful time photographing their day and don’t think they could have picked a better location.
Winter Smith Rock Elopement
Here are some of my favorite photos from Allie and Cory’s elopement. Allie and Corey chose Smith Rock for their wedding because of the amazing views. 100 yards from the Smith Rock parking lot there are dozens of ceremonies and portrait locations. They had around 20 of their family friends witness their wedding while the wonderful Wendy Duncan officiated. The weather and lighting were perfect for their special day.
