I had the pleasure of photographing Nanci and Ted’s Big Sur elopement at Ragged Point, where towering trees and views of the Pacific Ocean set the scene for a small, personal wedding. Their celebration brought together a close group of guests for an outdoor ceremony, portraits along the coast, and a motorcycle send-off.
Nanci wore a pale blue lace dress with a flowing train and carried a deep blue bouquet. Ted’s dark vest and light blue tie complemented her dress. Those blue details run through the photographs, from the shaded grove to the bright ocean overlook.
A Small Wedding Ceremony at Ragged Point
The ceremony took place beneath the trees with the coastline stretching out behind them. Guests sat close to Nanci and Ted as they held hands and exchanged vows. White petals marked the aisle, fabric draped the railing, and red heart decorations bearing their names added a personal touch.
I love how these photographs bring the setting and the people together. The wide views show the ocean and the intimate ceremony space, while the closer frames capture their smiles, the vows, and the applause as they kissed.
Big Sur Elopement Portraits Along the Coast
Ragged Point gave us two very different backdrops for their portraits: the soft shade beneath the trees and the open coastal views above the water. The grove framed them with tall trunks and arching branches. At the overlook, the rocky shoreline and blue ocean filled the background.
The gallery also includes a group portrait with their guests and a few quieter photographs of the two of them together. Their motorcycle added one final detail to the story, from a portrait beside the bike to a departure photograph with a “Just Married” sign on the back.
